Bayonetta games are all about nonstop action, so stopping to search around for secrets can really get in the way of punching monsters in the face. Therefore, we’ve written this walkthrough to help you encounter every Verse and find every collectible while still minimizing backtracking. This page of IGN’s Bayonetta 3 Wiki Guide contains a complete walkthrough of Chapter 13 - Kingdom of One and includes how to "bite and toss them". You’ll encounter every verse and find all the Umbran Tears of Blood, Figure Boxes, Card Packs, Records, and other goodies along the way—but that’s not all! We’ve also included tips to help you earn all five Bewitchments as well!

Chapter 13 Start

The first part of this chapter is one long cutscene. There aren’t even any quicktime events. When replaying chapter 13, do not start from this point, unless you want to watch the entire cutscene again. For some reason, it cannot be skipped like normal cutscenes.

Ginnungagap, the Chaotic Rift

When replying to chapter 13, you should start from here or later. Even if you get everything on your first playthrough of the chapter, you’ll still need to replay this section if you want to open the Old Picture Book.

Chapter 13 Verse 1

When you enter Ginnungagap, look to the right to find the portal for Verse 1. For this challenge, you’ll need to deal with tricky terrain again. The trick with the terrain is actually that there is no terrain. You’ll be in a constant state of falling but the wind will keep you up, so there’s no risk of losing health from falling into the void.

Speaking of health, you’ll only have 3 Vitality. The biggest hurdle in this challenge is actually the time limit. You’ll have 80 seconds to defeat 6 enemies. The first wave of enemies is simple, you’ll need to take them out as quickly as possible. Use your summons to trigger torture attacks. Any significant hits should make this prompt the torture attacks on the Lacunosus. Make sure to keep your camera looking at them or you’ll be unable to trigger the attack.

The second set of enemies is two Nebulosus. These are tougher, but you can dispose of them quickly—again with torture attacks. Though the torture attacks don’t deplete all of their health, it does cause them to drop into the void—which counts as an elimination.

Once they’re gone you’ll likely have around 40 seconds to defeat the final enemy, a Pannus. This is the type that splits in half from demon attacks. Therefore, only use your demons for Assault/Wink Slave attacks. Instead, you’ll want to lock on to it and just never stop attacking! The Abracadabra is very effective here, especially if you’ve upgraded it.

Most importantly, as we mentioned at the top of the page, equipping the Evil Harvest Rosary is supremely beneficial during this fight. The challenge already prevents the use of Witch Time. Therefore, there is no downside to using this accessory—it's only a huge bonus! Instead of dodging with Witch Time (which can’t be done for this challenge anyways), you’ll dodge and create a massive bomb instead!

You’ll earn a Moon Pearl fragment the first time you complete this challenge. Exit the challenge and return to Ginnungagap. The place will be falling apart as you head through it. Your goal is to reach the large spiral island in the distance.

Bewitchment

As you head through Ginnungagap, make sure to pick up all the lotus flowers you come across. Doing so will earn you the Bewitchment: “Collect 25 lotuses in Ginnungagap.” There are exactly 25 of them, and they are all on the path you need to take to get across. If you got all the flowers on your way to the spiral island. You’ll receive the Bewitchment when you get the final group of flowers at the top.

Umbran Tears of Blood Chapter 13 Cat

The second large island on the path won’t crumble. You'll notice smaller islands surrounding it. There’s a big one on the left that contains the Umbran cat. The cat will zip around the small nearby islands. You don’t need to worry about those falling either.

If the cat is playing way too hard to get, stop chasing it. Summon the clock tower and press B to ring the bell. The bell immediately triggers Witch Time. Use this to grab the cat while they’re in slow mode!

The Umbran toad is also found on the same island as the cat. It is on the right side of the island sticking to the tall glowing rock.

The crow is perched on some stalagmites on the top of the spiral island.

When you reach the top section, you’ll find the final group of flowers for the Bewitchment. Head across the crumbling platforms and avoid the enemies to advance to the next area.

Bewitchment

During this section, you can gain the Bewitchment: “Defeat an enemy while moving through collapsing Ginnungagp." It also doesn’t matter if you fall in the process!

Chapter 13 Verse 2 - Living Warship (Alphaverse)

When replaying chapter 13, you can choose to start from here.

For this fight, you’ll get a supercharged Madama Butterfly. Use her just like you would Bayonetta—she can even dodge with ZR and trigger Witch Time. You’ll mainly be fighting a big tentacle eyeball this. It doesn’t have much to do other than swiping itself around.

But it has such a slow windup, you can see it coming and dodge to avoid it/trigger Witch Time. You won’t be able to punch or kick Aureole when away from the battlefield. You’ll have to instead your range attacks by pressing Y.

Bewitchment

During this fight, you can earn the Bewitchment: “Hit Aureole with Madama Butterfly’s Flutter Kiss.” This move is done by pressing R. It takes a while to complete, so consider using it immediately after triggering Witch Time.

Bewitchment

During this fight, you can earn the Bewitchment: “Activate Perfect Witch Time 5 times while riding Madama Butterfly.” You’ll get some good opportunities to trigger Witch Time by dodging Aureoles’ swiping attacks and also from its lasers.

The second phase of the battle has you fighting some enemies you’ve fought plenty of times by now as Bayonetta. This time, however, you’re making them fight someone their own size! After knocking out the final one you’ll trigger a climax, and complete Verse 2!

Lost Pursuer

When replaying chapter 13, you can choose to start from here.

Chapter 13 Verse 3

Bayonetta hasn’t fought Strider since Chapter 2 - City on Fire, since Viola had all the other encounters against him. Show him how many new tricks Bayonetta has learned since they last fought!

After defeating Strider, a dark essence will leave his body. This being is called Dark Adam. For the most part, Dark Adam has the same moves as strider. However, since he’s mainly a shadow and the background has also darkened, he’s really easy to lose track of (especially during Witch Time). Press L-stick to lock onto him. This won’t help too much in regards to being able to tell what he’s doing, but at least, you’ll always know where he is.

As the Dark Adam’s health lowers, he’ll do an enlargement attack. This has him stand in the center of the arena and become really big. During this attack, he’ll do two large claw swipes, and then finish the move off by bringing both claws over his head and smashing them down. All of these attacks can be dodged/trigger Witch Time. If you manage to avoid getting hurt by them, you’ll gain the Bewitchment below.

Bewitchment

During this fight, you can earn the Bewitchment: “Avoid getting hit by Dark Adam’s enlargement attack."

After Chapter 13

Defeating Dark Adam will complete the chapter! Make sure to do Phenomenal Remnant Chapter 13. You’ll gain the Earring of Time, which is an accessory that extends the duration of Witch Time. Pairing this accessory with the clock tower’s bell and your usual dodges makes for a powerful combination!
