Synopsis
At Montclair High the students learn a lot more outside class than in!
It's a new year at Montclair High and it's about to become the most tumultuous time for this year's senior crop. At Montclair High School, three different students bond with one another through a variety of comic, dramatic and episodic circ*mstances. Star jock Sean (Ross Hamilton) has it all, including the girl (Kim Valentine) and the scholarship. But when he fails an important exam and his girlfriend's life is endangered by a sleazy musician, Sean enlists a class clown (Brent Jasmer) and a sex-starved computer geek (Jonathan Gorman) for the ultimate revenge.

Monotonous Times at Rip Off High.

Review by Warren Gilbert ★★★½
A low budget teen sex comedy with cheesy dramatic moments, Hot Times at Montclair High has nerds, jocks, football, showers, rock bands, drug dealers, exams, and gratuitous sex, basically everything you would want in such a film. Despite the stereotypical characters it is interesting following their stories throughout the film and there are some decent laughs. The focus isn't always there as it hops from one idea to another and it is sloppily edited at times, but it never fails to entertain despite not being overly memorable. A couple of song performances are used to pad this to 87 minutes. Features barely anybody of note except actor Troy Donahue and Kim Valentine of teen soap opera Tribes and fun horror flick Grandmother's House. Keep an eye out for some boom mics.

Watched this just two days ago and the only thing I can remember about it is that it had a German teacher who kept mishearing other teachers talking about how the school's roof had a leak but since he's German he kept hearing it as "lick," leading to some completely mirthless confusion/mild sexual misconduct.Don't hurt yourself rushing to track this one down!!!!

Review by John Wayne of the Internet ★★½
This a fairly generic jock/bully/nerd/goody goody/slu*t teen sex comedy. Although it occasionally forgets, and tries to tackle ambitious topics like child abuse, rape, and drug addiction with solemness of a Lifetime production.
It’s the kind of film where one moment a father slaps his son, calls him a hom*osexual slur, and the dramatic synth swells. Then the next scene has a guy accidentally light a fart on fire and burn off his eyebrows with the tact of The Garbage Pail Kid movieExtra points for notorious substance-addict Troy Donahue, who manages to keep a straight face while delivering a lecture to students about the school's zero-tolerance drug policy. Give that man an Oscar

It’s like if an after school PSA, a Lifetime movie, Saved By the Bell, and late night 80’s HBO had an orgy. An awful, boring orgy.
Funniest part was when the boom mic accidentally drops into frame in the men’s restroom scene. I don’t think I laughed a single other time.

Review by Movie Guy ★★★½
It's derivative of other 80s teen sex comedies and the characters are fairly stereotypical. There are some fun and entertaining parts to the film though that make it worth a watch.

Review by Bronze_Tiger ★★★½
"Hot Times at Montclair High" pulls from, and combines, elements from other teen movies of the era, including "The Breakfast Club," "Revenge of the Nerds," and "16 Candles." It tries to capitalize on "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" with the title, but bears little resemblance to that classic. Still, it's not as bad as some reviewers make it out to be. For me, it contains everything one might want in a teen movie: the jock, the greaser, the nerd, dream sequences, terrible hair metal, orange Minute Maid, and bad acting. The film falls into the category "So bad, it's good." It goes without saying that this movie lacks a budget; you can see mics enter the frame at one point.…

Late night sex comedy trash on Tubi. Wailing hair metal guitars are on point.

Big Lifetime vibes which make the standard lurid parts feel even ickier than usual.
Highest gspm (guitar solos per minute) of any movie ever.

Review by Steven Millan ★½
This stale attempt at a teen audience orientated Straight-To-VHS video comedy/drama falls short of its goals as director.co-writer Jose Altonaga(REAWAKENED) attempts to play it out as if it were John Hughes' version of FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH,only without the overt sexuality and one brief nude scenes as the teens here deal with high school life, keeping their cool status-ese real tight, and taking on local drug dealers and a nighttime club band that raped(off-screen) one of their female friends.
As hard as the cast work with making their performances work,it is the bland directing and the stiff scriptwriting that mightily stall HOT TIMES AT MONTCLAIR HIGH as it proves to more cold than "hot".
With Ross Hamilton(ISLAND FURY[a.k.a.:PLEASE DON'T EAT THE BABIES),Kim Valentine(.COM FOR MURDER,GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE[a.k.a.:GRANDMA'S HOUSE]),Johnathan Gorman(A WHISPER IN THE DARK[2015],VIRTUAL GIRL) as the resident campus nerd,Kim Anderson(FATAL SKIES,ROCK VIDEO GIRLS),and (name value star)Troy Donahue(IMITATION OF LIFE,DEADLY PREY) as the school's principal.

should be a 1 star movie but it had a decent group shower scene.

I sympathize with anyone who's tired of seeing Saved by the Bell as a reference but this is really just that with the occasional nude chicks. When you see a scene of a blonde padding her bra in closeup to bad pop music in the first minute, you're really not expecting this to turn into an after-school, pressures-of-my-generation preacher about the evils of drugs and the reckless life of 80's flashy pop-rock stars. There's also some rape here, which turns to Girl on Downward Spiral into Overdose and... of course, she's listening to some kind of flashy 80's pop-rock while sorta trying to kill herself. But, again since this is fluffed up with your typical Screech Powers sitcom antics (especially…
