Earn the best quest rewards in Tarkov by following a quest tree of the important tasks to maximise your account progression. With hundreds quests of varying difficulty and requirements it is easy to get lost in a variety of task pathways and miss out on the best rewards that are only a few tasks away.
From unlocking critical item purchases at traders, PMC experience, quality of life stash containers or currency completing the right tasks efficiently is highly rewarding in EFT. With this guide of the best Tarkov task rewards, quest tree and general questing tips you’ll be able to carefully progress to the quests with the best returns while deprioritising other trader tasks. These recommendations are based on my thousands of raids and multiple wipe cycles where I’ve completed each task multiple times and obtained the Kappa Container reward for completing all quests.

Tarkov Quest Overview & Tips
There are currently over 300 different quests in Escape From Tarkov that require the player to complete various tasks for the in game traders to gain reputation, rewards and progress to new quests. These quests serve as the primary gameplay loop and have grown significantly during the games development with each new map providing an influx of quest content. Completing the majority of quests allows players to unlock Fence’s quest, The Collector to earn the Kappa Secure Container that serves as the ultimate objective for most players in the community. In addition to the core quests players can also receive daily and weekly operational tasks for random objectives and rewards.
The main types of quests in Tarkov encourage players to explore different maps and weapon types with tasks such as:
- Eliminating Scavs or PMCs with map, weapon or other gear requirements.
- Picking up a special item from a map location or handing over a particular quantity of lootable items.
- Visiting a location and placing something at a location.
- Modifying weapons to meet specific criteria.
My general recommendations for progressing through quests efficiently in Tarkov is:
- Research: For the difficult location based quests that are in high traffic areas (like the various quests located at Dorms on Customs) research with the Tarkov wiki and content creator videos is key so that you can focus while in the raid instead of getting lost. Offline mode can also be a method for players to visit the location without pressure if you aren’t confident in your map knowledge.
- Stacking: Efficiency in Tarkov questing comes from stacking multiple quests together with players completing two, three or even four quests at once when possible. The best way to identify these opportunities is to look at the maps listed in your PMC task menu and also look at quests a few steps ahead of your current quest list as you may be able to unlock some overlapping quests. For difficult quests that require extraction with an item though players should focus on only one quest at a time.
- Off-Peak: Utilising off peak times and night raids where possible can be a sneaky method to lower to the total PMCs in your raids and give you an easier time for quests that require visiting locations for items and surviving. Transition times between night and day raids are also generally quieter and can similarly be used for slightly improved odds.
- Store Items: Storing items for future quests is the ultimate efficiency tip for quest progression although it requires the use of quest trees to plan ahead and enough stash space to store them. Having a general awareness of what the quest items required in the future and slowly acquiring them in a raid can remove a lot of quest frustration and will even allow you to instantly turn in some quests.
- Squad: When all else fails finding some friends or others in the EFT community to complete quests at the same time can improve your success as you will have protection while reducing the number of hostile PMCs in raid.
Tarkov Quest Tree Resources
Quest trees are invaluable Tarkov tools to plan your progression and understand the relationship between different Tarkov quests. I recommend players use the following two regularly updated quest trees to plan out the best quest path toward towards the best rewards featured on this page:
Tarkov Market
Tarkov Market provides players a vertical list of all trader quests and includes the visuals of what items are required so it is easier to identify what you should be saving from your raids and includes links to the invaluable Tarkov wiki on every single quest.
Map Genie
MapGenie.io provides a simple quest flow chart for all traders that you can move between and select each quest for further information about the objective and rewards that is effective across desktop and mobile devices. It also integrates with the quest item tracker for pro members of this service to help you map your own progression.
Tarkov Best Quest Rewards
These are my recommended focus for quest completion priority in Tarkov as they offer significant account rewards (unlocking purchases, saving Roubles or gameplay utility) for the majority of players. I encourage players to look at other quest rewards for themselves though as many quests unlock specific ammo, armour or weapons from traders which should be a priority where these suit your preferred playstyles. Questsare listed in level order so that players can work down this table in conjunction with one of the Tarkov quest tree tools above.
